Every Tuesday evening, I will be hanging out in my office talking about Pelvic Health and I invite you to join me. I have so much to share with you that I am going to donate my time to this. I will be asking for donations each week and all proceeds will be mailed monthly to Planned Parenthood to support their efforts to provide much needed services to women, such as preventative screenings, STD testing and treatment, and contraceptive care. Planned Parenthood was there for me in my college years and early marriage, and now I wish to give back. I will also be offering this live online to anyone who donates.
Each Tuesday, we will begin gathering at 6pm and will start promptly at 6:15pm with introductions and a 20-30 minute presentation on some aspect of Pelvic Health. You can see the planned topics for April below. After the presentation, there will be time for questions, discussing, and connecting. We will finish up by 7:15pm.
I feel so strongly that we women need more community and after doing work with Holistic Pelvic Care™ since October 2016, I can see how much support is needed in this area. We are not taught how to care for this part of our bodies. The messages we received as children and young women were often based on shame and fear. Join me in learning how to release these negative emotions and connect more deeply within ourselves in a space of feminine community.
Topics for April 2017:
May 2: Rituals for Daily Grounding and Sacred Space
We will explore meditations and visualizations for helping us stay grounded in the crazy world of today. We will discuss ways to create sacred space in your home, office, etc.
May 16: Re-usable and Environmentally Friendly Menstrual Products
We will discuss the negative environmental and health aspects of the menstrual products available in the general markets. I have samples of all types of alternative menstrual products for you to check out. Not menstruating? Come anyway and learn some things for all the menstruating women in your life.
May 23: Pelvic Bowl Energies
What is all this pelvic bowl stuff about anyway? We will explore the anatomy and physiology of the pelvis and discuss the basic energies of the organs. These energies can be worked with and negativity cleared to eliminate pelvic bowl congestion and issues.
May 30: Yoni Eggs
A weak pelvic floor is the root cause of many issues, such as urinary incontinence, bladder and uterine prolapses, urine leakage, and more. Kegal exercises have long been prescribed to strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor to cure such issues. Find out if this really works and other tools, mainly Yoni Eggs you can use that actually work.
I already have many topics in mind for the future, but would love to hear from you if you have ideas or suggestions. 🙂
How to donate when hanging in person:
If you are coming to the hangout in person, please bring cash or a check. Bringing cash or check keeps the donations higher, as credit cards charge fees. You can make the check out to me so that I can send all of our donations monthly in one big check. One of the reasons I thought of this is because I have often felt like $10 or other small amount wouldn’t make that much of a difference. When we combine our resources, we can make a bigger difference together.
How to donate when hanging out online:
If you would like to donate and join in online, please use one of the options below. I will collect all the donations and send a monthly check to the Bloomington Planned Parenthood. You can also send a donation yourself to the Planned Parenthood of your choice. Just send me a confirmation of your donation. I am not suggesting any amount to you, just give what you can. Before each Hangout, you will receive an email with directions on how to join online. Please be patient for the first few weeks as we work out any kinks. You can donate for weeks at a time or for the whole month, please specify.
Three ways to donate:
- Send a check to my office designating which sessions you will be attending.
- Use PayPal to send me the donation. When you go to the PayPal website, click “send”, then send your amount to my account at jenowennp@gmail.com.
- Call our office, click 0 for “all other calls” and my assistant, Tesa, can take your credit card information over the phone. Be sure to leave a message if she doesn’t answer so she can call you back.
If you are not already a part of my Facebook group, Pelvic Health with Jen Owen, N.P., be sure to join. All of our discussions will continue in between hangouts there. You can also follow my Pelvic Health Board on Pinterest.
